that require coordination and buy-in from many different groups across

Instructional Technologist:
work with instructional designers and student support staff to assist with
Distributed Learning at the
Naval Postgraduate School by training instructors and troubleshooting application and network issues as well as various projects as needed.
- Technology Group Lead - Manage other part time staff members ensuring task completion while
adapting to each person’s most efficient working style.
- Blackboard Committee Lead -
coordinate with all parties, technical, functional and vendor to
ensure Blackboard is functioning smoothly. Schedule system upgrades;
assist in usage of and resolve issues.
- Institutional Repository Project Manager –
Develop
and maintain project documents, obtain buy

and satisfy need of all stakeholders including technical and
functional. Configure application and define metadata components to

Administrator – organize and set up Academic Affairs SharePoint sub-sites for all departments. Work with staff to migrate
their current SharePoint 2003 content to SharePoint 2007. Work with other
Academic Affairs staff to determine how SharePoint can satisfy their departmental
data storage and communication needs.
- Departmental property Database Analysis – combined
many spreadsheets and paperwork which tracked departmental property into a
Microsoft Access database which handles item tracking and checkout.
Guiding a student assistant in doing a more encompassing system

- Enterprise Content Management System
project participant – work as part of the Internet team to
determine best information architecture for the NPS public web site.
Guide the Distributed Learning Web Content Management Group in their
conversion process to the Content Management System.

Faculty Research Associate: Full database and
application design and programmed with minimal direction utilized by
knowledge management group for U.S. Navy systems. Used Oracle Portal,
PL/SQL, SQL and Javascript.
Academic Systems Programmer Analyst: Primary
function was analyst and database maintenance for Blackboard, but I
took on additional responsibilities.
- Blackboard
- Enterprise course management system. Implemented data importing from
Banner (student registration) for course creation, user creation and
user roles saving 2000 hours per semester in staff work. Led functional
users in reorganization of blackboard help system further saving staff
time from reduced helpdesk calls.
- Resource25
- Enterprise event and room scheduling application. Customized web
viewer for integration into CSUMB web site, Worked extensively with
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and Resource 25's custom web programming
schema. Took over application analysis including database maintenance,
troubleshooting and upgrading. Helped to develop alternate uses for
data including XML, Kiosk and Master Calendar. Satisfied a requirement
from Peter Smith (president of the University) that a web based “Master
Calendar” be developed. Worked with Vendor to be first beta tester of
XML based webviewer.
- FAMIS
- Underutilized facilities work order and inventory system. Took over
as analyst, upgrading database to latest Oracle version and technical
lead for application upgrade and expansion.
- OtterID
- Lead project to remove personal information (SSN, Birthday, etc.)
from all campus person’s username and to develop a campus-wide username
that a person can use for all systems. I am managing all aspects of the
project: Developing project plan, getting data owners buy-in,
coordinating different systems and data owners in various parts of
campus, overcoming project hurdles, resolving project conflicts,
creating data flow diagrams and keeping users informed.
- Discovered, customized and implemented open source
solution
for CSUMB's
enterprise FAQ system. Gave each department control of their
own FAQs.

System Support Technician: Support
the
Administration and
Finance area of CSUMB with computer support, database creation and

- Developed database in Microsoft Access to track
University property valued over $5000.00 and sensitive equipment.
Deployed to CSUMB Property Department. Developed manuals and additional
features as needs arose.
- Built recycling web pages in PHP and MySQL which
displays
items collected in a warehouse for university staff use.
- Made
web based purchase requisition system until PeopleSoft purchase
requisition system could be deployed to campus purchasers. Utilized
Lasso scripting and Microsoft Access database.
- Began
chartfield request web pages using Lasso and Microsoft Access which was
supposed to allow campus users to request additional Peoplesoft
accounting chartfields.
- Used Microsoft Access and VBA to
perform data translation between Solomon Accounting System and
PeopleSoft General Ledger Entries. Used Excel and VBA to match ending
balances across multiple months of Solomon Data.
- Connected
to Pitney Bowes mail software (Ascent, Foxpro database) and formatted
data for integration into PeopleSoft utilizing a Microsoft Access
database.
- Upgraded ADP payroll software to latest version
and changed it to a Windows Server (TCP/IP) from a Novell Protocol
(IPX). Used ReportSmith to create and modify reports.
- Created
secure Microsoft Access database that stored detailed payroll data for
reporting to university departments. Later modified to track project
specific payroll expenditures.
- Installed, deployed and configured Primavera
Expedition, a
project management software. Overcame political hurdles.
- Maintained Administration and Finance and CMS web pages
as
requested by users.
